I'm Thankful for a Generous Husband

Yes, I am thankful for a generous husband, and right now I'm tryig to decide just how I am going to thank him. Will it be a kiss or a smack? You see, for my anniversary I received a laptop and I am still trying to figure out how it works. The keyboard is the same as any, just a smaller configuration? No, it seems to be just exactly the same. But appearences can be deceiving, as we all know. Do I not appear to be an easy going sort of person, taking everything in stride and going about the day to day without a whimper? Well, as most of the people I worked with, in what ever capacity, and most of my family and friends can tell you, that is an accurate description. Most of the time. Sometimes my temper gets the best of me, but I don't think I lose it too often. Until today. But I've been working on this post for over half an hour and don't seem to be getting anywhere. Fast. There is no mouse, and mostly that is not a problem, the keyboard works fine, so just what seems to be my problem? I find I am doing more backspacing than I've ever done in my life. Wow, got through the entire sentence and had to backspace not once! Alright, maybe I'm getting the hang of it. I'm sitting in my dining room, using my computer and not one other piece of equipment is taking up the tabletop. Okay, by George, I think I have it! Back later, gonna run give WTHF his thank you smack...a good warm hug to go with it!

The laptop does take some getting use to. Just wait till a cat decides that it's a nice place to hang out while you are trying to type! Not that I would know anything of the sort. ;)

I am not a fan of laptops! I use Randey's occasionally...but it's so hard to type on because I'll be typing away and then notice that the curser has jumped about 4 lines UP from where I THOUGHT I was typing so I have to back it all out and redo it. Randey says it's because my hand keeps hitting that square thingy in the middle there underneath the keyboard. I say bullhockey. Give me a regular keyboard any old day, thankyouverymuch.

I've never once used a laptop but I've heard of the frustations that go along with using one for the first time, so I don't think you are alone in it.

Have great fun, and if I haven't said so before "Happy Anniversary"!

I don't know if I could get used to a laptop, but I'd like to try. I hate all this mess on my desk.

You're doing a daily gratitude journal...takes me awhile to catch on. Very good idea. Now if you'd like to stick in a puttery treat challenge as an addendum... :)

I have a love/hate relationship with my laptop. I cannot type on it. Period. I haven't made that many typos since 10th grade. But I absolutely love the portability. I want to get a wireless router so I can use it anywhere around the house.

You are not alone. It does take time. I do love being able to sit in my warm bed and work though. I hated sitting in one spot. know I take mine where ever I need to be.

Laptop, shmaptop (?)...I like a plain old computer and keyboard, by cracky! Oooh...that sounds like Grandpa from The Real McCoy's(ha)! But...there is this cool little thing that you hold in your hand and it has a trigger on it and a roller and lets you scroll and click just like a mouse. But...it's a wonderful gift and he deserves that kiss, you sweetie!

I use my husband's laptop only when absolutely necessary or when we're out of town, but I take a mouse with me and hook it up. I can't deal with that tiny mouse button...drives me crazy. Yep, even crazier than normal. LOL

Hugs!
Kat

I just got my first laptop in May and it did take me awhile to get used to it. It is different from a big computer but now I love it and don't even miss the mouse though I do have a wireless one but never use it. Hope you enjoy your new one.

I have the same problem with laptops. It gets on my nerves!! I will stick with the regular computer I got, but those new Apple's are nice with the modem and all built into the screen.

How thoughtful of Uncle Mac. Laptops are the best! They don't take up any speace and you can take it where ever you go.
I look at old pictures of my refrigarator sized first computer and laugh real hard.
I LOVE my laptop!
