The Hero Artist
Okay, now we're in a new year and everyone, I'm assuming, has made their New Years Resolutions and broken at least four of them already. That is because it is now January the 2nd and it's expected of you. Mama always told us to make at least twenty, so that if we had at least one not broken by years end, we could consider ourselves successful. I bet everyone has made the old "lose 50 pounds by years end" resolution. That's all very well and good providing you can lose fifty pounds in the four days before December 31st of 2008. I read my darling niece's post(Kari at Livin' Large www.grannyskywalker.blogspot.com) and nearly lost it. She is to kind to say what I thought, and since she was, I guess I won't. (Suffice it to say, the youngster to whom I refer has some serious character flaws which could be corrected with the aid of a belt.) But anyway, I know that we all love art and my favorite of all is Titian. Titian or Tiziano Vecellio was born in a small alpine village of Pieve di Cadore, now not far from the Austrian border, where his family lived for many years. He was sent to Venice to learn to paint (not houses). I have here some examples of his work. He painted the beauties of his day, most of them flaming redheads, all of them robust and dare I say, busty...earthy lovlies that everyone emulated. And no one dared call them fat! Their very wealthy papas and husband would no doubt have had a few tongues cut out if they had. So, for your viewing pleasure, I present you with real beauty. Do you see anyone who looks as though they live on lettuce and carrots? Do any of them look as though they suffer from a bad case of worms? Maybe we just need to learn how to dress...Titian...my hero!

oooh, pretty!
~ Look how contented life is without dieting!~ Don't they look contented?
Hi Sandi,
I totally agree with you on all of this. I especially agree about that little brat, I mean misunderstood child. I didn't know that about the artist.
What a great Aunt you are! It is so inspiring to see that you went to all this trouble to find this art work.
I personally saw nothing wrong with her looks whatsoever.
Love & Hugs to you!
"Your darling niece's post"??? I am confused but what else is new? Anyhoo....love the art work and the ladies and your point. Excellent!
Well said...sister friend...I thought the same thing when I read Kari's blog...I too, think and I don't EVEN know the child...that she and all around her would benefit with a good ole fashion "mouth washing" or a nice belt to the butt...I'm not one for stifling creativity or honesty in a child...but RUDE is RUDE and it should be dealt with...I'll say it here, too...b/c Kari doesn't want us to say it on her sight...she does NOT look big and FAT to me!!
Love the paintings...thanks for sharing...
Blessings...
Teresa
Lol! He is now my hero too! What a great post!

Okay...Now I understand the reason for your post. Thanks for the explanation. I think your niece is very pretty...I truly do. And there was no excuse for the hurtful words. And thanks Sandi. I spent two hours of my morning at your niece's blog. :)
