My Brag Book of Friends
I've had a great time visiting all my blogging friends this week. For some reason there have been more pictures (photos) this week. You people take some of the most astounding pictures I have ever seen. While I'm not a huge fan of bugs, I've seen some shots of them that are mind boggling. The wispy wings on dragonflies that seem to shimmer with a cloak of jewels, the droplet of water that appears to be an explosion of gigantic proportions and the rose that still had the dew shimmering on the petals. Some of you are professional, such as David McMahon at Authorblog (http://david-mcmahon.blogspot.com/) who can take a photo of a nut and bolt and make you think it's a skyscraper with a fancy restaurant sitting atop it's shining silver peak. Some of you are learning and growing with each shot, such as Mari-Nanci (http://smilnsigh.blogspot.com/) and Penny (http://lavenderhillstudio.blogspot.com/) who have been exploring their own landscapes to share with us. I take pictures everyday but they mostly look like amateur hour. My son takes pictures much as David does, professionally. He has won awards for his photos. He didn't get it from me. My visions lie in the garden where I can picture in my mind exactly how something will look and hit it dead on. But like I said, I've been visiting everyone and admiring the photos and wishing I could take such glorious photos as Merisi in Vienna (http://merisi.blogspot.com/) that are so concise in their composition that you can make out the color of the shoelaces on a cyclists shoes. I have just been so amazed at the multitude of wonderful photos that I just had to tell you how talented I think you are. Please, keep on snapping those great shots that allow us to travel all over the world and feel as though we've spent the day with a tour guide viewing fantastic gardens and lovely cities, feeling a part of your home renovations and decorations. Rhoda at http://southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com/ retired...not! She's as busy as ever she was and has the photos to prove it. Jeanne at http://jeanne-lifeorsomethinglikeit.blogspot.com/ continues to improve so that it doesn't matter what she points her camera at, it's a great shot. Okay, nuff bragging on my friends...just you go check them out and see for yourselves...and I haven't even scratched the surface.

Thanks for your kind words. It is hard sometimes, but I have to do it.
Amateur Hour? Yup, I feel your pain. LOL! These bloggers are great inspiration; thanks for the links!
You're right, there are sooo many bloggers who take incredible photos. Both of my daughter-in-loves take wonderful photos. I'm just a "point and shoot" kind of girl, but I do love photos.
Hugs!
Kat
They are so awesome!!!...Hugs...Mary
Thanks for the great links Sandi
Oooh, I love bug pictures - I take a few myself! I'm going to check out your links! Thanks for that!
Thank you so much for your support and lovely comments at my blog. You really do me an honour...
My husband says that the new camera I got seems to be taking better pictures of late.... ;0)
I so agree with you about the amazing photos floating round the blogosphere - there's just so much talent about!
Thanks for your sweet words Sandi. It's inspiring to have blog buddies that enjoy seeing my pictures and now I have more blogs to check out for inspiration too. {{HUGS}}
Hi Sandi,
Just wanted to let you know that I printed out and tried your zuchini bread recipe and it was fabulous! I took it with me on my weekend to the In-law and it barely lasted one day there. My daughter devoured it and I only got two pieces. Thanks for posting it. I will definitely be making more!
XO,
Lisa
I noticed just yesterday that Susie Q over at Rabbit Run Cottage is getting quite good with the camera, too. Too bad Wallace and I don't live closer together. (I'm assuming he's the photographer of the two seeing as how he's in the newspaper business and all). Randey got me a magnificent camera awhile back and I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE IT!!! Think I'll post about that...my own incompetence and how it's slowing me down in getting started on my picture taking odyssey. lol Maybe someone out there can give me some idiot proof tips that are a little less dry than the books I've got on the subject.
Love you!
Sissy
There are just so many talented eyes out there. It is certainly inspiring to see as others see! :)
I'm with you! Some of the photos I've seen are stunning! I'm very much an amateur and proud of it! LOL!!

Thank you Dear Friend. Thank you so much for your kind words, about my photos. Yes, even Smilnsigh used to have pretty pictures...
Now I'd probably best point to Photos-City-Mine, or Seasons Snapshots, or Noir et Blanc...

Neat blogs Sandi! Thanks for the leads!hughugs
Photos are one of the best parts of blogs - I love looking at them.
I'm an amateur photographer too. I don't have "the eye" to capture what some others are able to.
I mostly take photos of family. I don't usually think about how I'm framing it or if the lighting is just right.
I'm learning some tips from my daughter on how to take better photos, but I'm never going to be great at it. I will just admire the work of those who are.
Sandi, thanks for pointing the way to great blogs. Some of these I'm familiar with; others are new.
And believe me, hon, there's an art in recognizing quality. Kudos to you, milady.
THank you, Sandi! I can always count on you to come by for a visit and a boost of confidence.
xo,
Rhoda
Thank you Sandi! I love taking pictures for my blog to share. Someday I would love to take a digital camera class. I would love to learn all about the wonderful settings on the camera and how to use them.
I have enjoyed visiting all of the bloggers you have mentioned and more. There are some amazing photographers out there.
Hugs,
Penny
This is a very nice post. I've visited David's blog several times and love the pictures he posts. Simplt beautiful.
I must say I haven't checked out the others as yet but now I will.
Hi Sandi,
I know what you mean, lots of bloggers out there are so talented with their cameras. I just like to go to their blogs and enjoy their creativeness. Hope you had a good week.
Some new links to check out... Thanks for sharing!
Ciao bella~
Sandi,
I cannot thank you enough for your generous support and sweet comments here, and on my blog! I feel truly honored, and I appreciated every single visit of yours.
I took this evening's soccer games as an excuse to finally come over here and look for the post you informed me about such a long time ago. I have been on the road so much lately, that I hardly found the time to post on own my blog. I am already looking forward to August, hoping that by then my schedule will be a little more quiet (I abslutely love quiet Augusts here in Vienna, when the city belongs to the few lost souls who do not leave, and summer elsewhere).
