Giveaways and Winningways

My soaps are on the right...they look like delicate petals...then just here
are my lovely little stamp and glitter cards...

Here is my Cath Kidston book...

A sweet frame for my Granddaughter's latest picture...and a little book on life...

a beautiful hanky and a sweet pair of socks for my cold feet!!!

I had the greatest day yesterday...I don't know what made it so great other than the wonderful package I received from Cassie up on Mockingbird Hill...I mean the day was going along quite well even before the mail ran and put the topper on the cake! You see it was Monday, January 28th that I first heard about the Carnival Giveaway at Cassie's and I joined immediately. I learned how to say "if it's free, it's for me" at oh, I don't know, about age three? But imagine my joy when I opened the box and found not only the prize I had signed up to win, but other lovely things as well, things I had not expected. Now while I am so so happy with my Cath Kidston design book (my British friends will understand) I just fell in love with the hanky, I have always loved little decorated hankies, got it from my Grandma. The little stamp and glitter cards will make lovely bookmarks, but that wonderful box of rose petal soaps will never wash hands. They will adorn my bathroom (not the guest bathroom, for guests can be rude enough to open the container just to try one. NO NO NO!) Do you find me a tad off or just out and out weird? Well, please enjoy the photos of my wonderful gifts. I think I may hold a giveaway soon, simply because it's so much fun to be on the giving end as much as the receiving end! View my pictures of my wonderful prizes and ohh and ahh right along with me!

What beautiful treasures, Sandi! You are very blessed. What? not going to use the soaps?

I read a story once about a gal who left out the best towels for guests with a note pinned to them that said: if you touch these, I'll kill you.

You can see where this is going...she forgot to take the note off before her guests arrived.

I am collecting your witticisms these days..."If It's Free It's For Me" would be a cute sign, wouldn't it? LOL!

SAndi what a wonderful surprise and at such a good time when things haven't always been plain sailing. You so deserve to be the winner. I'm really glad for you to be getting a treat.

I can understand not wanting to use the soaps, sometimes pretty things deserve to be treasured and not used, but maybe treasure them for a little while and then use them, that way you can have the best of both worlds!

Very happy to see you back, I was on my way to visit when my feed said that you had put up a new post. I just hope that you are feeling a bit better.

Lucky, lucky girl! I love all your pretties. I had never heard of Cath Kidson until I started reading Sophie's blog but she has wonderful things. Hey Sandi, do you know what happen to the Bowerbirdsnest blog? It's gone. I knew they were taking a break but all links to their blog is gone. Have a good day!

Lucky girl you such pretties. RYC: The dress is actually chocolate brown. Told you the cell phone pics weren't that good lol. Haven't decided on the hair yet actually considering a cut beforehand. This is the longest I've worn it in a long time and not sure if I'll keep it that way. Oh and I love the new header if you could tell your felines. 'smile'

Sandi, those soaps look lovely! Are you going to use them or just keep the bathroom smelling nice with them? I like pretty lacy tissues too. :)

Congratulations on getting the nice freebies!

Hugs!

Congrats on the "goodie" stash! Wow! You got some great things...yea...call me crazy, too...if you like...b/c I like to hang on to wonderful things like the rose petal soaps, too! Uh huh...is that considered being selfish? Hmmmm...I think NOT...just selective...yea, that's right...new word..."selective"...I like that so much more than crazy or selfish...don't you?

I think those rose petal soaps work pretty well in your linen drawers and your fine delicates drawer to keep things smelly rosy fresh! I do that with soaps I get from fancy hotels...you know soaps I would never buy for myself...but borrow from the hotels...every day that I'm there!

Enjoy your goodies...
Blessings...
Teresa

Oh Sandi, I just had to laugh when you said you wouldn't put your pretty soaps in the guest bath because someone might use it. LOL..LOL. I noticed the last time we had guest someone had the nerve to use my pretty guest towel hanging up, so nicely pressed and starched. I was a tad miffed. xo Lynn

What a nice package and you deserve it.
About my shades. I have just had these wooden blinds for 10 years and they are starting to look bad. Just hate those new clothe shades. I hate to send alot of money, but also hate to go back with what I have. I guess I will just see.

Cassie is one of THE most adorably dear people isn't she? Fantastic treasures!

The nerve of guests...using the pretty soaps and well starched, antique hand towels. When Dan was about 10, he actually told a guest that they should wipe their hands on toilet paper because his Mom would not like it if anyone touched her fancy towels! Oh I am such a horrible Mommy...but I HAD told HIM not to wipe HIS hands on them...they were FOR guests!! Hmpf. Kids.

Love,
Sue

My, you have a talent there! I love machine embroidery, quilts, pillows, etc. (they are never straight, but always unique!).

My favourite sayings thesedays are, "Why did they never tell me about this BEFORE I got pregnant? (My eldest is 16), and "You know, there really is a lot to be said in favour of adoption.."

Wink.

I'm oohing and ahhing, Sandi. I adore frilly feminine accoutrements, things that pamper and sweeten the everyday.

My own grandmother used to give me those little decorated hankies. I'd forgotten that and your post put me in the Time Machine. It smelled like rose petals in there. Lovely!

I brake for Hankies! I carry them in my handbag, until the need a wash, but never use them. I stash soaps all over the house, in the guest bathroom too. So far, my guests have shown the utmost respect for my treasures. ;-)

Well dang. I missed the whole giveaway thing. Ah well. I can take comfort in the fact that YOU won! Love all your goodies. And nobody deserves winning the great stuff more than you. Have I mentioned lately how much blogging with you has meant to me? I truly look forward to reading about your days. I don't always comment (mainly because I'm talking to you in my head and just forget to type it out. ha!), but I do always appreciate your tales and tellings.
Love you -
Sissy

Nifty things you received, Sandi! I will be drawing later this evening for mine.

Today was a busy day...Dentist, Shopping, routine blood test for J, all those little things that you wait to do, then pile them all together in one day!

When we got home we went to work rearranging the hearth room and breakfast room! So it's been a full day for the old folks!
