A Month of Giving Thanks...Day 2

So here we are on November 2nd, and it's Day 2 of A Month of Giving Thanks Challenge. Today I want to give thanks for you, my blogging friends. You see, back in April I was laid low. I wasn't aware of being on the Critical List until I had been moved up to Fair condition. My son Wallace updated my blog and told everyone that I was in Hospital and just how serious a situation it was turning out to be. One day just after Easter, he and Charity came into my hospital room with a sheaf of papers. They were smiling to beat the band and fanned the papers out on my lap. I looked down and saw all these names that I recognized and comments and well wishes from over 100 people in my Cyberspace Neighborhood. Mac had brought me the print outs of numerous E-mails and E-Cards...and there were Get Well cards thru Snail Mail...I had a daily phone call from Lee in Texas. I was overwhelmed. Now, here were about a hundred+ messages and I have to say that after I got through laughing, I cried. So, here for day two, I want to tell you just how much it meant to me.

I always knew that friends were a tonic for when you hit low points in your life. But before I came into this wonderful world of blogging, my friends were always those to whom I could put a face and a voice to. Now I may not always be able to put a voice to your faces, but I've seen your faces in your blogs so much that I would know you if I saw you. How does one say "Thank You" for all the wonderful prayers that went out? Well, I just want to say it again...thank you my friends. You're a rock.

I think it's so great to take the time to be thankful. Sometimes we get so busy we forget to do that.

Although I did not come upon your blog that early as I had only started blogging in March, I am sure all your bloggers were sincere and wished there were more they could do. I'm glad you made it through what must have been some trial...

Wishes for continued good measure of health.

Sandi Love, if I had words to express how much your time spent with me playing scrabble and chatting has cheered up drab, boring days and brightened my life and outlook you'd know that a daily call is nothing compared to the love I've gotten from you. Just be sure you take as good care of yourself as you do of Mac.

Call me, nudge me, I'm home bored and want a game! ;-D

Love,
Lee

I like your blog. I connected through Hillary's blog. You have a great idea doing a month of gratitude. I never thought as friends as a "tonic" but that is a very interesting way to look at them.

Thank you for sharing.

You are such a sweetheart, Sandi. I love you and all my other blogging friends.
I got the nightshirt at Walmart about a month ago. I will go there this very day and if they have another, I'll buy it and send it to you. If I can get the shirt, I'll write and get your mailing address. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they still have one.

Having your voice involuntarily silenced for that time when you were in the hospital made it imperative that wishes be sent to you for a speedy and full recovery and then, a return quickly to blogging! I readily confess that I very much look forward to your words appearing on my screen -frequently! And see, all those messages -and prayers too -we not not unheard, were they? And being thankful for friends -really great ones, moderately good ones, or just acquaintance-type friends -who really can or wants to go without in that department? Very often, they -like family -are what keeps us moving, groovin' and just plain ticking! A great thing for which to give thanks.

Awww, you'd do the same for us, right?
I LOVE the connections I've made and I treasure my blogging friends more than I do some family (that's sad to say).
I'm thankful that you made it through, super thankful that your son notified us, and more so that he took the comments in to you. He (and Mac of course) rock too!
