Happy Halloween from me and Maxine

I've been sending out my Halloween greetings this morning and in one I included a short note. I said that I was wishing everyone a Happy Halloween, even those that don't celebrate this frankly American thrill of fun and love. Of course there is always someone ready to throw cold water on anyone attempting to enjoy life, so if you are here, please go away. No wet blankets needed here. I awaken each morning with a smile on my heart if not my face, and a joy of life only known by those who have stared death in the face and spat in his eye. This morning I want you to remember that in our celebration of Halloween, we are actually celebrating the Saints who have gone before us, it is after all All Hallowed Eve...or Halloween...(you know how we Americans are, we have to shortcut everything. Look on your desktop. Know what all those little icons are? They're shortcuts.) In these Saints I include my Mother, my Parent's in Law, my grandparents, all those who have gone on before. The Church (of which I am a member) hasn't declared them Saints, but never mind. I do. So this October 31st, please have the most fun you can have, enjoy the evening and celebrate the children. And tomorrow thank God for the Saints who have gone before us. I had a piece of news from Brenda at Country Romance from the Heart that she's set up a new etsey shop just in time for Halloween and winter with lots of things to offer us. It's a Country Gourmet Shop and you can reach her here http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5923879 so go on over and see her!
And now, no Halloween is complete without Maxine. She's the driving force behind the monsters, so let's let her have her say...

Gotta love Maxine, don't we!??? Well, I know I do and I gather your sentiments are pretty much in line with mine there!

How appropriate that this year's church women's bazaar falls on All Saint's Day! What better way to give homage to many who once were here, left their mark on our church in various traditions -among them some of the best baked goods and crafting skills around! Great way to bring these things back to mind, isn't it?
Peace!

Hi Sandi,
Hope you have a wonderful HALLOWEEN. We've had no trick-or-treaters in two years so I hope we get some this year - or I'll have to eat it all myself. LOL
Love Maxine.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Sandi

Love, love, love Maxine!!

I haven't been by in awhile. Between our trips, my getting the flu and all my company for the breast cancer walk, my life has been c-r-a-z-y!!! Everyone has gone now though and my house is quiet (thank you Lord!). BUT...I'm desperatly trying to get caught up and it's been fun seeing what you've been doing.

Hugs!
Kat

I have my Halloween dec's up and we are almost ready for the Trick or Treaters.
Just one more week and I MAY be free to walk again. Had my first trip out in weeks yesterday - shopping - I hired a wheel chair..lol...and do you know I quite enjoyed it, apart from not being able to reach much.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs and kisses from Guy and Carol xxx

Happy Halloween Sandi, I hope that you have a wonderful evening. As a child I lived on a farm in the middle of no-where, so no trick or treating. Now I live in a small town, and love the fact that the kids come trick or treating and we always have some goodies to give them. Although I don't have any children we decorate to show the kids that they should come here, and I am not the scary old lady that lives by herself with a cat that no-one ever sees!! Well I am but at least I am a friendly one!!

Oh brother go read the comment that someone by the name of MissLippy left me on the Obama complaint. Then go look at her website. Some of her posts makes me scratch my head in wonderment that she is a Highschool teacher!!

A Happy Halloween to you as well! We are fully stocked and ready, as our street seems to be the place to go for Halloween loot.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN my friend :) The kids are getting ready for a night of spooks. I think the hubs will take them around and I will hand out the candy.
EEEEK! I cant wait, cause then Im on to my favorite holiday of all.

Now if something would just make the nasty troll bloggers stay off my blog all would be well.
