Tagged by a Catherder...go figure!
Yes, the tagging is still going on and Catherder over at Gato Grove (I have a cat farm, she has a cat grove...do we see something odd here? Not me.) But as I was saying, Mz Catherder has tagged me and before I give you the rules, you've got to go read hers...I mean really! Just for a tease, one of the things that I found quite surprising is that she is a member of a Nude Beach...okay okay, much more to do, moving on now...but here's the High Cat Herder's link, before I forget...http://gatogrove.blogspot.com/ And now, here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog - some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Okay then, ready set...
1. I am a closet complainer. I can complain about something in such a comedic way that no one realizes I was really p.o.'ed till three days after I left. It hits them all of a sudden, like they're in the shoe department and suddenly look up with this strange look upon their face and their brain is saying "uhoh, all's not well at Sandiland..."
2. I have a temper. When I retired, my temper did not diminish one bit. I'm just more cautious what I lose my temper over. I learned to count to ten at an early age...I somehow never make it past eight. Mea Culpa
3. I love boxing. No, I mean really love boxing. When I was younger I always rooted for the pretty boy, but now I root for the older guy fighting a cocky young upstart...like the fight from a couple of weekends ago, Hopkins destroyed Pavlik and he started out the process in round one. Hopkins is 43 and Pavlik is 26...I'm pretty sure on those ages, and as in polls it's a + - of 2.
4. I love to grow my own plants and plants for friends. I've managed to pass along Angel Trumpets (see picture) till I think about 1/2 the county is pretty well covered. This year I'm rooting six of them (3 white and 3 yellow) for Evil Sister. I promised to do this on the promise from her that she would not come under cover of darkness and dig up mine! They come in white, pink and yellow.
5. I have over 300 cook books. I am addicted to them. I can read them like others read a novel. It's inherited...Mama collected them, too. And btw I'm a pretty good cook. Also inherited. But not from my father who once made bacon eggs and toast for Mama (breakfast in bed) in the same pan. At the same time. There were no buffet breakfasts then, I think she had Kelloggs Cornflakes, instead.
6. Mama swears this part is true. She was on a bus going back home to NewPort News, Virginia and sat next to a lady who had a young child about a year old. The little girl's eyes were amber with a blue ring around the iris. My mother, from a blue eyed gene pool (a deep blue pool that extends from my sons to my granddaughter) told the lady that she was expecting a baby (me) and she hoped her baby would have those unusual eyes. And so I do. No one else in the family has my eye color. My mother always called them Cat's eyes. Hmmm...wonder if that's why the cats love me?
So, seven things and I can't believe there is anything else you don't know about me. Let's see...I am drawn to old houses...old abandoned houses with swagging porches and lopsided windows with hanging shutters...I like to imagine the stories they could tell...about the families that once lived in them. Even an old chimney with nothing of the house left around it, fireplace gutted and nothing but a roosting place for wildlife can set me off. And now I am done. And who do I need to know about? It's time to pick seven of you and the seven I'd like to choose...well I'd like to choose you all but if I do, no one will feel especially invited, so I am going to stick to the rules. Okay, here goes....
I want to invite these 7 to the party...
1. I just have to know more about Tee at The Diva's Random Thoughts because she's a dangerous influence on me...and a lot of fun, too.
2. Johnny Depp enthusiast at thedeppeffect.com because she makes me laugh and I want to know if there is a clown in her background.
3. My dear friend Lee (and fellow Scrabble enthusiast..you can't get us off POGO at http://chrysalisdreams.blogspot.com . I'm sure there are 7 things about her I don't know.
4. Cath at http://crazycath.blogspot.com/ who is quite a photographer, she has a blog just about photos' at Cath's Cradle.
5. Sandy at http://spiritifelici.blogspot.com/ because she is so much fun...her pictures of animals in all modes of life will warm the cockles of your heart...really. Not sure where the cockles are, but they'll be warmed!
6. Seamus at Damp Dog http://dampdog.blogspot.com/. You'll fall in love with the story of the Buffledog, Taylor...I love Taylor almost as much as I love my Digby, the Old English...I can't say loved for just because they've gone on ahead doesn't mean the love is no longer there.
7. I'd like to know more about new bloggers I've just met (mainly through David at Authorblog (see my sidebar) and so please Nita, at http://thesparrowsheart.blogspot.com/ join in with us.
Okay, that's seven and this has been a good one. Thanks to Catherder for thinking of me. At least I've assumed that I was the Sandi she meant. Of course we all know what assume means and it won't be the first time I've made an ass of myself.

Hi Sandi!
Love always to learn more about you. I love the story about your eyes....
Hugs,
Penny
p.s. hope you are still heading this way...email me if you have time for a visit.
I love those facs! They are fun. I will do my list on Monday or Tuesday.
Gee..i think you scared away all my blog traffic LOL!!!!! Old houses...love em...hubby and i just watched the spiderwick chronicles today and all i could talk about was owning another old home and being able to explore!
I'm glad that title said what it said and not what I read at first glance.
(think medical term)
nice to learn more about you. think you have more cook books than me.
LOL - I'm with Katney. Then I *do* have a medical background. ;0)
I'll get down to this sometime and I'll let you know when it is done. Thanks for the invite Sandi. Don't care if you weren't the Sandi meant - glad you did it. It was interesting. xoxox
That story about your eyes is plain eerie!! That's a very unusual colour, too, isn't it? Wow ...
And I love old houses, too. If I come across one on my travels I'll take pics, even making OH stop at the side of a road or do a u-turn to get back to it. Sagging gates, too, or old ruins of any kind.
I'm not sure there's anything you don't know about me that's of any interest, but I'll have a think! Watch my blog ...
You know, if you were writing political commentary, I'd have to put a special button up so I could get to you. Was this truly posted two days ago? I don't believe it! I mean I was just here three hours ago getting David's blog addy. Sigh.
Okay, loved reading more about you. I love it when you toss a few more handfuls in just for good measure. That thing about your eyes? Kinda freaky and that's good for Halloween week and all.
Now I'll have to go see who makes you laugh. Thanks for the links.
Love those Angel Trumpets. I have Daytura flowers. In fact, I spent much of yesterday pulling up our Daytura plants. Beautiful flowers, but WOW. Talk about a root system. Randey's sick of them and I guess I am, too. I've always wanted Angel Trumpets, though. If we ever get to vacation over that-aways, I'll have to bring my shovel. LOL
Love ya'll! Hey, did you ask Uncle Wally if he had that family history written by Uncle Deb and Aunt Dot or if he wants a copy of it if he doesn't have it? Let me know.
Sissy
Sandi: I do love your Yellow Angel Trupets. That was a neat post with the info.
I read it as all one word and thought the same as katney... finally I was able to see cat herder... LOL
Boxing??!!
Say it ain't so!!!!
You need to post a close up photo of your gorgeous eyes. The amber color with a blue ring sounds really unique and beautiful.
Mind your temper, and try to count to TEN, not eight.
:-)
Great post, Sandi, and I loved the pictures of the flowers. Thanks! I'll get around to the 7 random things as soon as I've stopped fretting about needing to install something else. :) Be a nice break from trying to be patient while one thing installs and something else is downloading to do that next. Tell Mac not to faint. LOL
Hugs!
Lee
I'll have to tell my daughters that I've finally found someone with more cookbooks than I have. I only have two shelves on a bookcase my son-in-law built for me in my dining room that is jam-packed with cookbooks, plus two "recipe card" collections, membership in the "Taste of Home" online recipe thing plus several other recipe sites I have bookmarked and that doesn't come even remotely close to 300 but my girls just don't get my love for cookbooks -as well as knitting and crochet books/magazines too! One can't possibly have enough of any of those things!
And, I love those flowers in your pics! If I didn't have a tendency to kill plants, I'd be begging you for some shoots! I wouldn't want to be arrested or even accused of cruelty and inhumane treatment of flowers ya know.
I'm going to try this tomorrow fun always.. thanks for the tag I always love to play It's funny because I saw another meme the weekend and I said oh yes !!
Colleen at Looseleaf notes is also a Scrabblehead

I love your tag list..... It is so fun to learn more about our blogger buddies!
I always love to learn more about the bloggers I love so much...and I love the way you tell a story.

Sue
Hi Sandi,
Always good to know more about you, and I can just imagine you seeing a broken down old house, and stopping to have a wander around with dreams in your eyes!
The flowers are beautiful, so I'm not surprised that Evil Sister threatened to steal them, but lucky girl she is now going to have her own!!
wow girl, you sure do have hidden depths, ya' know? (I have a terrible, but wonderful tale to tell about a nudist beach in San Tropez, thaks for remindng me).
Lovely post. It is always a delight to visit with you. x
Hi Sandi,
Loved all of your answers. I love cookbooks also but am not much of a cook. Can't figure that one out. And we share a love of kitties.
Sandi,
Thank you for putting a name to that plant. We saw the most gorgeous one of these plants at Biltmore House when we visited two years ago.
Gill in Canada
Enjoyed the story of your mother, Sandi.
(And thanks for the kind shout-out, too, ma'am)
I like your song playlist.
Faith Hill is always good.
Glen Campbell with Wichita Lineman is a classic.
James Taylor just cut a version of Wichita Lineman that's pretty cool.
He also did Seminole Wind by John Anderson.
Check them out!
Love this. I hope you have a wonderful week...m..
Sandi, i love the things about you. i like to raise my own plants too. i have always been an avid gardener.
Sending you love, Nita
P.s thanks for all the lovely comments you have left me. i appreciate them very much.
That was mighty interesting. Always good to learn more about a fellow blogger.
I enjoyed reading your seven! That was fun. 300 cookbooks impresses me no end. I have one. It is a board book (like the ones for toddlers), and seldom comes out. I'm am no cook at all.
Loved the bit about being a closet complainer, too! You're funny.
Hi Sandi,
Good tag and share! It's all good stuff....it makes you You. I get the boxing thing. I'm the same way about baseball, not boxing. It's good to be passionate about something.
Holley
Hello Sandi. Clicked on your name on someones comments. Loved your pics and your post.
I posted today, all about old doors and what is behind them...fascinating subject. I love looking through lighted windows on a winters evening before the curtains are drawn and imagine the family who live their. Lord, as if my own life were'nt enough for me.
Those are all great things to share.
Do we get to see a close up of those beautiful eyes?

fascinating info. you are indeed a fummy but lovely person. have a nice day.
I love Angel's Trumpets. You are very generous to root and share.
And now I want to see a picture of your eyes!
That's pretty cool about your eye color. Close up pic please?? :) If I was in the states I might request some plants but you would have to teach me what to do with them. I tend to have a brown thumb. :( Oh and the cooking mmmm. I am hungary. I bet you can cook up a wonderful country meal huh? Too bad I am thousands of miles away otherwise you might have company for dinner. Praying for tomorrow. Lord bless our country. Love ya! Jodie
