the littlest angels

The littlest angels
I have told you before, I have a love/hate relationship with Face Book.  While I love keeping up with all that my friends are doing, and sharing all (well not all but a lot) that is going on in my life, there are some things in that place that can irritate the
life out of me and things that can break my heart.  The things that make me crazy are how some people can start an actual war in there over things that have absolutely no value in my or anyone else's life. Politics is politics as it were.  I know, that possibly
should read politics are politics, but pardon me, it reads better the other way.  Facebook was alive with political opinion and urging you to vote one way or another.  Now in actuality, I made up my mind with  little help from the media.  That includes Face Book.  But friendships were lost over the hateful tone of this last election.  I hope I am better than that, everyone has their own opinion on how things should be done, and that is as it should be.  It is our right.

The other thing is about heartbreak.  And of course the heartbreak comes from the plight of the animals we are subjected to on Face Book.  Okay, so maybe subjected to is a bit strong.  After all, I don't have to read about them.  But then, I do.  I admire the people who put these postings out there to let us know what is going on.  WhereHopeLives is one of my favorites, but I fight the urge to rush to the pound to save one more life.  I simply can't take in one more animal.   So, I have made up my mind to send money as often as I can to help them get these sweet things homes.  The one thing I notice about Where Hope Lives, is apparently it doesn't live for cats.  I never see any postings about getting cats a home.  Maybe they could change that, since Face Book is free and a lot of people are cat people, not dog people.  I'm just saying.\

But we have problems close to home, too.  My friend Lisa G Griggs was recently presented with five of the sweetest puppies  you have ever seen.  She was presented with them by a secret Santa who left them without permission, left no clue as to who mom was, how old they are...and why they didn't try to find homes for them themselves.  They simply depended on the good heart of a good hearted woman who is now desperately looking for homes for these littles angels...surely someone out there would be willing to take a look.  Maybe fall in love?  Maybe make the day of one small bundle who would repay you with adoration and love .  And remind us that dog spelled backwards is God.  If you'd like to get a look at them, contact me.  I'll hook you up!

Sandi,

You are such a good hearted caring soul! They should make you president of ASPCA and all other aninmal defense and care organizations. Hope your friend finds homes for those babies. I got Hyram in a similar way. He was abandoned at the Vet. Through the lady's car window..."I'm handicapped. Will you help me get my pet inside?" (said to a fellow customer) and then, "Yes of course." and once handed over....ZOOM off she went.

Love,
Lee

Thank you for reaffirming why I could not be on Facebook. May some sweet folks step up to the task. When Molly passes, and she is failing fast, I hope never to have another pet as needy as a dog. Oh my. Cats are so much easier.

I feel the same way about FB, Sandi. Especially in the politics department. I thought for sure that two of my favorite people were going to lose their friendship by not agreeing. However, I also believe that once they put their "affiliation as it were", they don't have to go on and on. I have very seldom mentioned the subject myself, until yesterday when I posted about President Bush coming home from the hospital, I kind of got a snarly comment. Such as that is uncalled for in my opinion. I wasn't voicing which my "affilation) just making note that the former president was doing well enough to go home.

Okay, I'm done on that subject.

I know such a great heart about animals, and love yours to pieces. I like that about you along with many other things.

xoxo

I don't understand why people can't get along. I try to celebrate the difference. Some people are impossible.

Good for you trying to find a home for those puppies. When I owned my flower shop, I would find kitties in the alley. Fortunately, the shop next door was a video rental and they would find homes for them.

I hope and pray they find homes. Have a great day.

I feel as you do about Facebook. One way to look at it is that anyone who can fall out with me over politics or religion or anything else on Facebook was not a true friend in the first place. C'est la vie.

I am for more perturbed about the pictures and links to graphic animal abuse. I know what goes on, very little surprises me. What it does do is stress me and put my blood pressure up, and ruin my sleep for a week. I have decided to protect myself and will not now allow posts from anyone who spreads that kind of thing. In my opinion, quite a lot of it is simply done to shock and upset, in some kind of twisted one-upmanship game. Sorry, but that's the way I feel.

Hi Sandi, long overdue for a visit here - please forgive me.
I used to be on Facebook but I found it a little too obtrusive so I left and I prefer to email and use the blog occasionally. I am told Twitter might be a better vehicle.

Wishing you and yours a very Happy 2013 ~ Eddie x

I have the same love/hate relationship with FaceBook.

However, the animal stories, especially, have to be carefully scrutinized. For example go read today's post by Betsie Diekroeger Czeschin about the Humane Society of US. This is NOT your local unit but the national unit which advertises very emotion-provoking ads on TV for donations, as does several other national animal organizations.

My advice is support your local units for the most results. My local Humane Society is always in need of money and runs a thrift outlet. I contribute to both and my current beloved dog is from there.

I have some breeders who will not be friends with me becasue I support all animal causes..Seems a bit hypocritical to me but then choice is the human condition..love Sandy

I'm not fond of all the political nastiness on FB either. There's just so much of it! The quantity and persistence is what gets to me sometimes, so I hear ya.

I feel bad for all the mistreated and homeless pets in the world too. You always wish you could adopt more. But you have to draw the line at a point where you wouldn't be able to afford to feed another pet, or give them proper vet care and personal attention. Still...you find yourself wanting to hug each one so they know that someone cares about them. :-(
