GrayC, the Christmas Cat

Do you have any friends that are as close to you as sisters, that would do anything for you (and vice versa) and not even question why? I count myself so very blessed in that I have two such sisters. One is Evil Sister (Jacqui) and the other is Good Sister (Maureen). Today we will be introducing Evil Sister's cat, GrayC to you. GrayC could only belong to Evil Sister, being an Evil Cat. Evil Sister has no need of a watch dog as long as GrayC is around. This cat actually snarls. And growls. And I believe she may bite. My first introduction to the rotound Miss G was after Evil Sister and hubby moved here from New Jersey. (I like to say it was because their daughter had moved here, but it was really because she couldn't stand being away from her "sister".) I had been warned about Miss G's bad habits. I was ill prepared for the actuality that is GrayC. She had been, as I understand it, an orphaned little kitten that had to be bottle fed (such as our Hound). I know first hand how spoiled a human raised kitten can become...yes, GrayC is spoiled.

So when I first clapped eyes on her all I could say was, "my GOD that cat is fat!" I know now that Miss G and I shall never have an "aunt/niece" relationship because I stumbled in on the wrong foot from the beginning. You never tell an Up and Coming young debutante that she is on the, shall we say husky side , of petite. Jacqui says she can't figure out why GrayC is so er...plump. She only eats regular cat food. And apricots...and marshmallows...she loves those little yellow chicks. No, really. Apricots. And marshmallows. Yellow chicks.

Her "daddy" bought her a Christmas suit the other day. Seems he wanted her to be able to get into the spirit. As luck would have it, she could barely get into the suit. Jaq was telling me about how the velcro closures would barely make it around her girth and GrayC has no idea how to "suck it in" if it isn't a marshmallow. I told her she could add a piece of velcro to the closures and make a gusset, as it were. And then I fell into hysterical laughter at the thought of a gusset in the cat suit. Now, you'd think that the mention of a cat suit on a cat would set me off, but no. Nothing odd in dressing your sweetums in human attire. Is there?

So, they finally managed to stuff...I mean clothe Miss G in her Santa suit. They sent me a picture. Actually they sent two.

This is Miss G doing her Jim Carey impersonation of the Grinch. And meanwhile here at home, I can't get mine out of the Christmas tree.

This link will explain why I call her Evil Sister. http://sandimcbride.blogspot.com/2007/10/happy-halloween.html

Oh, Sandi! GrayC is so cute in that Santa outfit. But no where near as cute as Hound! My goodness, how she had grown! And with all those brightly colored beads no wonder you can't get her out of the tree.

A few years back I bought a collection of balls for Hyram, one of which was metalic red and gold and had wondrful rattle beads inside. He loved it. Do you think a Christmas type of ball would coax Hound out?

Great post! I expect to see it on David's list soon!

Hugs!
Lee

Sandy, this is so cute! I love your nicknames for your friends... I call one of mine Daughter of Satan and the other Angel of Mercy. We are all good good friends!

God. Give the poor fat cat a break. She already has a fur coat on. She does not need a Santa suit on top of it.

It IS cute, though.

That is a darling photo of GrayC! So cute. Oh, and I see to have a few pictures of my cats climbing around in the tree as well. One of mine likes to sit on one of the branches (now bent of course because he's 17 pounds!) and swat the others as they go by.

I decided to get a Christmas tree for my blog because I liked yours so much- thanks for the idea. Hope you will stop by

Aww, this post makes me miss my kitties, Peaches and Ray. They would get so excited at Christmas time and love to climb the tree and knock off the bulbs. Every time we'd leave the house for more than an hour, we'd come home to find the tree knocked over on it's side.

Yeah for Christmas, which means I get to visit my kitties at their grandma's house in Michigan!

That was a lovely account of Gray C.
We have a vicious cat down the road. pretends to be your friend then swipes you just as you least expect it.
I personally hate to see animals dressed in human clothes and I know that it is only in fun in this case but I really do feel it is cruel.

The loveliest picture was your own cat looking through the Christmas tree.

Aww too sweet. One of my grandkitties, Goldberg, is a very big boy(26 lbs.) Crystal and Kevin got him a Hanukkah sweater but he's not real fond of wearing it. hehe
RYC: those icicles are actually hanging off the rockface. Very cool!

I too have a spoiled, bottle fed cat that is absolutly rotten and likes to hiss. Even though she thinks that she is half human, I don't think she would cooperate and wear any clothing! Its my dog that has the crazy appetite around here eating anything she can get a hold of. The Cats will only eat one brand of cat food and loudly protest if I try to buy anything else!

What a complete riot!!

GrayC is hysterical... looking a bit miffed at being dressed in a Santa Suit....

And your little darling hiding in the branches of your tree ... too adorable with those great big eyes

In case I dont get a chance as I will be taking a blog break soon... seems folks are busy being elves and cooking in blogland ...so I will

Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year...

HUGS AND LOVE

Oh, heavens! Dare I say that's enough to make a cat laugh? ROFL!!

I'm not a fan of dressing animals either, but now I have greyhounds I have to - they get so cold! Well, the Princess does, She actually needs pyjamas on cold nights!

Poor GrayC - a Santa outfit on top of her own furry PJ's. She does look cute though I have to say she doesn't look too amused. As for your little puss, what a beauty, such gorgeous picture.

My daughter has a cat who has always been bad tempered, even now at 16 years old she will hiss and lash out. My 4 year old grand-daughter now says whenever she hears her hiss "that's a nasty cough you have" and giggles. (I think she got the idea from "Babe").

Considering Mandy has yet to put our tree up -she's running about two weeks behind schedule -I think it is because she's afraid of what Chino, our whacky kitten here will do to the tree, especially since no doubt little Kurtis will serve as an assistant to the destruction that will probably ensue once the tree goes up!
Loved that piece, Sandi! Had me snickering the whole way through it. Don't tell the evil GrayC though that I was laughing at her expense.

Oh, you are too funny. If the cats could only read! You know now to have fun; that's for sure.

Oh, these photo's are adorable, but that last one is a doozer, sooooo cute!

I have two "sister's" too, one in London whom I've known since we were teenagers, one on-line whom I've spoken with several times daily for the past couple of years. We've never met in the flesh, she's American, but my goodness, she could blackmail me for life with all my secrets should she choose to! Luckily she is the "good" sister, so no worries on that front.

Here's to sisters, and all the joy they bring!

Miss G is lovely in her Christmas attire. Being on the sort of chubby side...a nice way of putting it, I can relate to the gusset thing!

I love that photo of your sweetie pie in the Christmas tree!

Yep, that's a fat cat.

"a debutante on the heavy side of Husky"....sweet Sandi...I love how you put things into words...what a wit you have and what a gift you possess with your great ability to capture each moment of life in words!

I LOVE your sweet little Hound in that tree...she is about the CUTEST kitty I've ever seen. Now for Miss GrayC (love that name by the way) she's adorable and even more endearing b/c she let her parents dress her...I've never known a cat to stay still long enough to do something along those lines.

Enjoyed the story...and YES, I do have a couple of friends that I consider sisters! I feel blessed to have them in my life...along with my REAL little sister...not that she's real little or real big for that matter, she's just happens to be my "REAL" sister who is younger than me and she happens to be my best friend...after "lovin hubbin"!!

Blessings...
Teresa
