Taking a break!

There's just too much to do to prepare for fall, so I'm taking a 2 week break from blogging and will return on September 16th. I'll visit as many of you as I can during my hiatus, but I'm wearing myself out mentally and physically trying to get everything I need to get ready and help Mac with the garden to. We have a hurricane headed our way, and two more behind her (Hanna) and lots of things to do to prepare for that, as well. I'll miss being in here I'm sure, but the work has to come first I suppose. Here is a short film I did of the pond area this morning, and we've already decided that we're going to expand it...my visions will be the death of one of us, I was told this morning. That Mac. He is too funny! Maybe that's why I adore him! See you in two weeks!

Enjoy your time off. Life gets really busy sometimes, and we have to adjust accordingly.
I know you will be prepared for the storms headed your way.
We are being drenched by heavy rains from Gustav.
I enjoyed your video. You've got your pond area looking so nice, and you have MORE ideas??!!
Mac may be right about those visions of yours.
It's great that you do these things together. Your gardens and lovely yard are places you both can enjoy.
:-)

Hi sweet friend!

I've often thought of doing the same thing myself. Blogging is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but it is work sometimes trying to stay on top of it.

Enjoy your time away. I hope you get lots accomplished, but more than that, I hope you stay safe.

I'll miss you!
Hugs!

Very nice video. And I like the way your voice sounds as you give us a guided tour. :) What kind of fish are in the pond now?

Prayer's ascending for your safety from foul weather. And for a smooth completion of your "getting ready for fall" duties.

Hugs!

Sounds like you need a rest, Sandi! Stay safe in those hurricanes!

Your yard looks lovely. We love the sound of running water too, and we have a fish pond right outside our back door, with goldfish and a little waterfall. Very soothing.

See you in two weeks! I hope you get everything sorted and manage to stay safe. Will be thinking of you and praying for your safety.

Great little video. I am like that over my garden - I love my arch and my plants. No room for a pond so I have a couple of little fountains to hear the water....

And now I know how your voice sounds which is cool!

Good for you, time is always my enemy too, which is why I never seem to spend as much time reading all the great blogs out there, as I would like!

Thanks Sandi for the lovely award - just found it!!!

Hope the hurricane burns itself out long before it gets anywhere near you. Take care, and go forth!

Oh I just adore your southern accent! It was so cute when you said "but they evade me!" about the hummingbirds. I would like to be able to pronounce 'evade' that way.....hmmmm, I'll have to practise a southern accent, but I'm sure I won't get it right....

Your backyard is a tranquil idyll. Great that you got the sound of the water in the video. Enjoy your break...no worries....blogland will miss you but everyone needs a break now and then....all at your own pace....

Enjoy!

Well, I watched the video at my daughter's house, but I must not have commented (hits self on head). Love your pond!! Take care; I know you guys are so busy.

We were expecting a whole bunch of bad weather today, but it changed its mind. Now, on to the next one, Ike.

I hope where you are, you're safe!!

Did you get your fish? We now have a total of 4 small(one year old)gold fish in the pond at the Memphis house. However Honey Bear Has already been measuring and planning the pond in Huntsville. Hopefully, we can get started on it in the early part of 2009. As with you, I'm spoiled now and have to have a pond. It will be in a shady area near the deck and I am thinking of planting some varieties of Hosta between it and the house with some elephant ears and caladiums in pots. I'll probably have some Mandevilla and some Hybiscus too.
