Goodby to those January Blues...

January has but two days to finish up her wicked wicked ways. It has been the most trying month so far. That is, as far as we are concerned. January 1st was okay, nothing to write home about...and it went downhill from there. Way downhill. Do you remember the little ditty we sang as children done to the tune of some other long forgotten song that went:

I was going down the highway
doing 90 miles an hour
when the chain on my bicycle broke
I was covered all over with scratches and bruises
and punctured to death by the spokes.

Now Mac's boyhood memory of that old favorite is somewhat rude and I refuse to print it here, but believe me when I say that this month, I feel like we were on board that bicycle (built for two) and am still picking spokes from all areas of my body. I can not go into all that has happened, but the only good thing that came out of it was Mac's eye surgery. Yea, Mac. He's a happy fella and I'm a happy gal for him. But the rest of life has just kicked us around, thrown in a punch or two and I'm not going to let February do that to us. I'm going to meet adversity head on, throw in a punch of self reliance and keep on truckin'.

You know, I have to keep reminding myself how incredibly blessed we are in that we have a roof over our heads, plenty to eat, the wherewithal to pay the bills and the comfort of friends and family. If only life were so good to the rest of our family and that family fall outs could be done away with, life would be perfect. I stopped striving for perfection long ago. Now I just hope for the best, oil the pedals every so often and make sure the chain is in good working order. Unfortunately, in January the chain came off the doohickey and left us rather tattered and torn. But that's okay. February brings a new chain and I hear that duct tape and WD40 are miracle workers. I am now armed for combat! Come on February, show me what you've got!

Oh Sandi...that sounds like a painful January! Once the spokes are all out...let the healing begin. Here's hoping February looks much brighter in your part of the world.

Sorry to hear that January has been your bad month and those spokes sounded awful!!!!!!!!
Family disputes...... we have had our share in the past.

I have a feeling that April might be a better month for me because I should have finished chemo by then. Heres to Spring!

The great thing about blogging are the friends we make, the downsides are the pain we feel when things go badly for them and the helplessness we feel in not being able to touch hands, hug, or show how much we care.

Dear Sandi-I am hoping that this wretched month has carried all the troubles away with it as it fades into February-not known for its sunshine, I agree but it does herald spring-the time of burgeoning spirits and warming earth. XX

Sounds like a pretty grim time. Sadly it feels like the chain came off our bicycle too, but I like your attitude and I'm trying to do the same. Onward and upward! It's the only way.

Glad Mac's eye surgery went well. Hey, that's one more blessing to be counted. :)

All in favor of designating February 1st as "Clean Slate Day" say "Aye!"
That would work fine and dandy for me too. January has some down days -a whole lot of sinus infection crapola floating about this house -with four out of six residents being afflicted and one of that four even ended up with a diagnosis of pneumonia! No, it wasn't me -my deal was just a simple cold that branched out into the sinus infection from Hell -or maybe it was the cold that was that. I dunno but at least -finally -it does seem to be abating!

So February -bring it on -groundhog and all!

You've certainly got the right attitude. When life hands you lemons, throw them back at life with all of the strength you've got!

Oh, wait a minute. That isn't the right attitude? OK. Make lemonade. Got it.

Hi Sandi - I'm so sorry to hear that the month went from bad to worse. When you get those spikey spokes pulled out I hope you'll heal all over and be back on top of things!
Eat some chocolate every day in February - it couldn't do much harm!

I'm sorry.
Usually I have some deep depressing days in January but it hasn't been too bad this year. I've stayed busy.
I hope your February is as good as it gets.

Hope you escape the storm we are enduring. As of 10 p.m. we had 8" and headed for 10" or more before it moves East. I think TN & NC + mid-Atlantic states are in it eventual March from the Pacific to Atlantic Oceans.

This is nowhere near as bad as the ice storm of almost exactly one year ago, so I am toasty and busy with my computers and some cooking.

Oh Sandi! i'm so sorry that damn chain came off. I'm so sorry January sucked the big one - but as Januarys generally do, you're still on course.

Family fall outs are the worst! They are so stressful and emotionally draining. Sending healing sunshiny vibes your way and hoping you will be feeling tip-top and back on your game very very soon.

I love you.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of troubles when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in big starting capital.
Now, I'm happy and lucky , I started take up real income.
It gets down to choose a correct companion who utilizes your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, and shares the income with me.

THE 1st of every month seems the opportune time to elevate our hopes and forget the history.

We had a horrid month of weather, but generally a mundane month otherwise.

Ugh. Sounds nasty. Well, good thing that old month is gone and may February bring much joy and very little pain.

Hi Sandi,

Sorry to hear about January. The whole of 2009 was hell for us so I'm hoping (and so far I'm right) that 2010 is looking a lot better.

I liked that bicycle verse. It cheered me up no end.

Huge hugs, Hadriana xx xx

PS: Hope Feb. brings you great things and all of them good.
