Le Chats and Diabolical Plans for the takeover of the world

Sometimes I think my life is now controlled by the Abbot Labs and their compatriots in the making of medicines. I hadn't paid much attention to my dreams till just lately. The other night I dreamt I was chasing squirrels. Pretty ones, big bushy tails, sweet little faces with chip monk teeth. I was telling Mac, "I'm so tired, I dreamed I was chasing squirrels all night...even my little black squirrel that lives at the end of the road...why, do you think?" Take a sip of coffee, look at him expectantly...he with the answers. "I don't know, you're nuts?" Perfectly straight face, aware I am holding a cup of hot coffee in my hand, and he grins like a mule eating briers. I give him the Douglas Evil Eye (it's powerful I tell you) and take a bite of my dry toast and another sip of coffee. I began to relate some of the dreams that I've had the past few months (since the beginning of the RA meds) like when I was the captain on a Japanese Destroyer. I spoke in Japanese. And I understood what I was saying. I was on the space station...I was the house keeper and they called me Rosie...I complained bitterly about no dishwasher. He looked at me, nodding pleasantly. "Like I said, nuts." Well, I had another dream last night (or early this morning). The cats, Arial (the black one) and Batgirl (the Calico) were the ring leaders and Pyewackit, Peanut and George (the guys) were taking orders and answering "yes Mistress" in a Peter Lorre voice. They spoke in French. It was so eerie and I understood not a word of the hideous plan that had been laid out. But there was much gesturing going on and I noticed that Mindy, the poor blind dog, was tied up and gagged in the corner. Her imploring eyes followed me as I walked out on the porch to break up this happy little group. I flipped on the porch light and demanded to know "just what's going on here?" That's when I suddenly awakened, and realized I was only dreaming. I promised myself to look up the contraindications on the bottles of medicine that have become my life. I came in and turned on the computer. And realized that my banner has changed. I look at Mac who has every appearance of innocence. And it hits me. He and the cats are against me. The only plausible explanation is it's gaslight. With me as the victim. But how did the cats learn to speak French?

Hahahahaha...

I like your new banner! What brilliant cats you have!

Wow, you really have been having some amazing dreams...the Japanese Destroyer is a trip to the shrink in and of itself. ROFL!

There, there, Sandi, no one who is as articulate and funny as you can possibly be "nuts." You can tell Mac that I said so.

Love the cat painting, Sandi! And those dreams sound like the stuff of good short stories!

You know, you personalizing your blog has become an inspiration to me. Someday, somehow, I'm going to start adding new things to mine. :)

So glad you're feeling better!

Joy!

Hi Sandi,
Cats can be so sneaky, can't they. Dreams like yours are lots of fun-they make you wonder why you can't speak japanese when you're awake. Glad you're feeling better.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. But, really, I think you HAD to have had me laughing much harder at your dream story than you at my roach story! Oh my gosh, this is one of the funniest posts I've ever read! I thought our malaria meds were bad!

Hi Sandi,

You always make me laugh even when you are not feeling well. How do you do that? LOL I love your banner with the kitty. It's amazing that you remember those dreams in such detail. Have a good weekend!

Boy, I'm really glad I can't usually remember my dreams for more than maybe 10 minutes after I wake up and that no one else is able to infiltrate them and use them on my blog. They'd be coming to cart me off to the funny farm in short order if that were ever to happen!

Loved this post. Loved the dreams. Usually when people say, "I had this dream," I zone out. Keep the meds, the dreams were fascinating.

The cats didn't suddenly learn French, they knew it along! Why else do you think they're always acting so aloof and mysterious? ;-)
Sweet dreams,

I love the cats, my first thought was "she's changed her header".

I sometimes take an antidepressant(sp)which makes me dream a lot. Some I don't remember but later a thought will come to me of something said or done and I don't know if it is real or dream.

We've had a few Auburn grads in our family:Hubby, daughter,son-by-love,nephews. War Eagle!!!

I'm loving the dreams, I have also been going through a patch with some weird and wonderfuls, but can't remember them long enough to get them down on paper (except for the nightmares which you just really want to forget). I did half hatch a plan to blog one as I woke up, but it never got anywhere - my brain is in no fit state to try typing or anything close to it when I first wake up! Can't wait for the next instalment.

LOL! I bet the dreams you are having are related to the meds you are taking. I love that you have talking animals in your dreams! I always thought animals could talk :-)..

Hey- send ME some of those meds...french speaking animals just might be the thing the make life more laughable! lol
Hope you're feeling better. Was it Uncle Wally's birthday the other day? I sent an e-mail...but I'm so bad at birthdays, etc., that I'm afraid I might have gotten the date wrong.
Get those meds straight before you start dreaming of talking fenceposts!!!
Love you -
Sissy

I had myself a weird dream just last night. I find dreams fascinating as long as they're not too scary. I say keep a pad by your bed and write them down as soon as you wake up. I'd love to hear about them.

Hugs!

Nice work, Sandi.

Either those felines are multi-lingual or Mac has been teaching 'em Francais behind your back ....

Keep smiling

I'm laughing my head off here! The cats speaking French dream is something else. I can imagine the whole scenerio though and who knows, maybe you escaped into some secret window into their real world! ;)

Thank you, Sandi, for the generous comment on my early-morning pictures a few minutes ago.

So, has Mac fessed up to French lessons?

LOl you're so well behaved. If Matt had said that to me I'd have demonstrated to him how I think he's #1. What dreams! Wish I could remember mine so vividly. And the cats, I swear the things they do when we're not looking..hehe

Squirrels generally represent "organization". They are crafty little ocd animals who like everything in its place. Maybe you are "chasing" "organization", or getting spring fever and ready to nest!! Love the pics of the cats..your blog is great.

I love your new look!

You are amazing and your writing is just wonderful. I have always envisioned Lucy speaking in a British accent and knowing French, Greek, Italian and Russian...with a smattering of Swahili but poor Henry, now he is so slow on the uptake...I doubt he has learned French. He barely knows English. He told me so.

I have all sorts of dreams about the pets but they are always getting away from me...or vanishing and I search for them until I am exhausted...a doctor would love to analyze me huh?

Japanese Destroyers huh? Now what did YOU have for dinner?

Love,
Sue

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you." Who said that? Or did I read it on a tee-shirt?

Your dreams are amazing. You could turn them into novels. Speaking of which, on your profile you recommend "The Lovely Bones." I'm reading it and absolutely loving it. Thank you for the tip!

I've added you to my blogroll, so I can keep up with you.

Greetings Sandi.
Nice to know you are doing well. The count is going to be off-blog for about a week for a spinal-fusion operation and hopes he will come through as well as you. By the way, Strutzthe cat sends a few leers to Batgirl. I think he was smitten. Your new banner withthe Steinlen cats is beautiful. Will check back with you after I return. You have a very funny and informative blog. My best. Count Sneaky
